BACK FROM THE FREAKEN HOTT and SUNNY SAN DIEGO!

OHHHKAYYYYYY!!!

so here be a stoopidly loose recap of the days i was gone .....
In all honesty it all felt like a really long dream, that i jst woke up from yesterday arvo [when i actually arrived home]

ANYWAY this is like the 3rd time i'm writing this journal entry up..  so here goes

SDCC WAS A BLAST

met some artists i really look up to, met some fellow artists here from DA, purchased some wicked sketchbooks and jst had an all-round great time

Preview night was wild..   jst stepping into the actual convention centre was like..  really intimidating... the joint is freaken huge, and mate..  heaps and heaps of people..  t'was wild..

during that time i bumped into :iconfooray: (along w/ one of his mates BJ) so that was cool..  also had dinner at this joint called 'Kansas City Barbecue' w/ Foo, BJ, Diana:iconmechangel2002:, Simon:icon-seed-:, Hector :iconelsevilla: and a few Digital Webbing Folks..  food was aite, but luckily the company was good..  unfortunately i didn't really get to chat it up w/ most of these folks [Simon, Hector and the DW folks] but it was still cool cool.

1st and 2nd days of the Con is actually a bit of a blur..  so i think i'll mix those two days up together..

while lookin around at the artist alley w/ my mate Leonard, we stopped by Jonboy:iconjonboy007007:'s booth.. talked a bit, and got myself his sketchbook.
Also dropped by Sean:iconcheeks-74:/Ryan:iconryanbnjmn: 's booth which was usually swamped w/ folks wanting to get sketches and their autographs...  top blokes these two...  shame i totally spaced out and forgot to by Ryan's sketchbook...  i'm such a tard!..  also stopped by Paul:icongutz:'s booth and shook hands w/ him and chatted for a bit..

this man here is another top bloke..  ya'll who went to SDCC shoulda picked up this man's sketchbook...  had some mighty wicked shtuffs inside i say...   well.. pretty much all these cats sketchbooks are wicked.. and will inspire me to become better.. so they better watch out for me.. HAHA.. yeh right...

now to continue..

while wandering around udon booth, i bumped into both the extremely talented Rob:iconrex-203: along w/ Josh:icondcjosh: who were kinda also waitin' to meet 'all-day sketching' Joe:iconngboy:. There by the Udon booth, we all chatted a bit then soon wandered off on our own, saying that we'd all meet up later that evening. fastforwarding to that evening, we all met up again, this time along w/ Foo and BJ, we all lurked around downtown San Diego to look for a joint to eat at...  as we ended up eating @ this asian cuisine place...  food weren't that bad.. pricey as nuts tho...  WEAK

later that evening we all chilled @ the lobby of the Hyatt where we drew and jst chatted the night away..  was real fun

later later that evening/morning Leonard, Foo, BJ my cousin Rex and I ended up chillin' @ Denny's which i must say...  is one real cool joint...   AUSTRALIA...  MAKE A DENNY'S DINER ALSO!   DO IT DAMNIT!!

yeh.. we also coulda died that night also... but on w/ the story!

like the 1st and 2nd days.. the 3rd and 4th days will also be meshed together coz i honestly can't figure out what happened on which days...

day started a lil later..  rocked up @ the con noon-ish...
was wandering the DC booth when i happened to see Sean again, along w/ Ryan Odagawa :iconryanodagawa:, which was cool coz these two are both cool-cats.
a bit later we happened to bump into Foo and BJ, which was good.. coz then Leonard and i didn't havta go and look for them.. haha..

while walkin around a wee bit, we bumped into Andrew:iconandrewhuerta: which was a nice surprise. i knew he was gonna be @ the Con, but i didn't expect to actually bump into him.. so that was cool... he's a top bloke..

he then led us to the Image booth when i shook hands w/ Lesean Thomas:iconleseanthomas: who'se sketchbook had already been sold out by then... which sucks.. coz i woulda loved to have purhcased that 400-page badboy..

around that booth i got to also meet Ryan Ottley:iconryanottley: and Invincible colourist Bill Crabtree, and got Invincible Vol.2 signed by the both of 'em...  Top blokes these two were also..
I think it was on the last day of then when we all bumped into Claudio :icondefected-angel: who has some of the ILLEST pages, especially when seen in person...  like... mighty WICKED!
when the Con was over and done w/ we went down to JACK IN THE BOX and jst chatted there..

and yeh...   i really dun remember much else...  purchased some shirts, some more sketchbooks and figure or two..

all in all... the SDCC experience was (as Foo would say) 'AMAZING!!'

i'll definately be back for next year's con.. most definately... and hopefully this time w/ a booth. WHOOP!

Sounds like you had a blast there. Wish I could of gone but can't for two reasons, I'm broke and stuck in New Jersey.:shakefist: I would love to get a sketchbook of Frank Cho's though, his drawings of women make me drool. :lick: I hope to go to SDCC soon. (You should draw yourself and the crew eating at Denny's but that would be too much work.)
