Writer's block, Artist's block.
Either having an idea that just won't fabricate, that moment where things just aren't clicking artistically, or even that moment where you've just got nothing. Blank.
One of those moments today, and boy was that salt-cookies (just NOT pleasant at all).
It hit me hard like remembering a forcefully forgotten embarrassing memory and simply caught off guard.
I've tried many things in the past to overcome this 'artist's block' and sometimes some methods work, sometimes they don't.
What I did today was simply walk away from it. Figured forcing it wouldn't help.
I went to me room, and 'read' a bunch of French Comics (I loosely use the word 'read' seeing as I can't understand a lick of French, but the visual storytelling is so darn fantastic you can basically know what's happening from the pictures alone)
Doing that really reignited me, and as soon as I placed the pencil lead to paper, things were rolling again.
Not smoothly as I would've preferred, but much better than it had been prior to 'reading' the French Comics.
What are some things you do to jump-start your artistic engines?
To recharge oneself?
