I'm new to PS and am working on my second piece but, finding this will help me very much so.. THANK YOU!!! =)

I've been trying to figure crap out and having one hell of a time, I was getting real discouraged well, i still am a little.

What did you do the blue drawing with?

Is the inking done in PS?

do you just do the high lights and shadows and everything on separate layers?

I do something like 20 or more layers in a piece is that bad?

Please if you would be so kind check out my pieces and let me know what I should change. I'm no where near the artist that you are but please let me know, thnx.

First piece (done all wrong):

First piece (done all wrong) edit:

My second piece, still in the works (nothing is finished in this, not blended, no outline, shadows for veins slapped on last minute)

Please let me know what you think, thnx! =)

Mr. Chamba, how to made that cool ink splash effect (3rd layer from finish)? And what the difference between image step 4 & 5? o.O

While the finished product looks nice, I prefer the process that takes place to achieve the finished results.
Question, everything after the light blue sketch is photoshoped, right?

:iconthechamba:

everything is PS, even the blue sketch.

i like the walkthrough, awesome art.......could you maybe do some walkthroughs that you put your specific steps and how you accomplished them on the pics? :)would be most helpful

I don't think I'll be doing any more specific steps.
Goal wasn't really to spoonfeed the approach, but to give hint and show what I do in order for folks to try and pick up how I did it.
If you pick it up yourself, it tends to stick with you easier.

The problem is not to colour like you bro. The problem is to draw like you! And there can't be a tutorial to that!

So do you draw if first on paper than scan it? If you do scan it what point do you do it?
Reply
:iconthechamba:
theCHAMBA Featured By Owner Oct 22, 2008
in the artists's description, if it doesn't mention any use of paper then the piece itself is all digital.

just heads up for next time.
