So usually i come up w/ 2 - 3 layout options. Done directly into PS, as it tends to go quicker.
They went with Option 1.

Once layout was decided upon, I then drew it up on the UDON comic paper provided by UDON.
Did a basic rawscan usually @ 150%/300DPI (no pre-colour levelling etc, jst basic scan) to get see if any edits etc would be needed.

Once it was approved I then coloured it up in Photoshop7 using an Intuos2.
This too needs to be approved before I upload it to the FTP.

and that's it.

I might go into it further, but the PSD colour reference file i uploaded pretty much cover how I go about it colour-wise.

Thank you for showing us the different layout options you considered, it's kind of nice to see the compositional elements you were considering for this pic as well as the final version.

Awesome job on the coloring too!

It's interesting to know that even the roughs have to go through a QA process. When we work with clients on the web, it's a similar deal (wireframes/layout first, etc.)

Goes to show that it's never as simple as "here's my work, check pls".
